Reg the Fronkey Farmer replied to the topic end of agnostic.com? in the forum Small Talk 3 years ago
Maybe all the agnostics copped on that being an agnostic means they are actually atheists. There is no middle ground. You are a believer in a god(s) or you are not. You don’t need belief if you have knowledge. Right?

Sunday School 3 years agoThe article I posted on extreme heat does not compare (or contrast) heat vs cold weather. It just deals with heat risks. The reason I posted it was this paragraph:
We also found that people have very limited knowledge of the “heat index”—a measure that factors in relative humidity to estimate how a given day’s temperature actually feels to the h…[Read more]

Sunday School 3 years agoAs a scholar of Israeli politics, he would do well to keep in mind the history of other faiths and to what lengths their adherents went to, in order to force their beliefs upon other theists. None of it had anything to do with atheists.
Mohammed continued these conquests until, at his death, in 632, he was the master of nearly all Arabia and…[Read more]

Majorities of Americans oppose religious-based anti-LGBTQ+ discrimination even though some Christians are given a legal right to workplace discriminate.

Thanks Davis, the video was very informative and I realize that it is easier to accomplish than I had thought it would be. The radiation umbrella was a clever idea 🙂

It would be great to visit Mars if it was not -80F most of the time or if it’s atmosphere was not made up of about 96% Carbon Dioxide with virtually no oxygen. The red sand and dust storms can be so severe that they have been seen from Earth with the naked eye, iirc. The temperature can vary by over -100F in one Martian day in the same…[Read more]

When I first heard that Musk wanted people go to Mars I decided it was just a marketing stunt but turns out it was not. I think 2024 was one of the dates mentioned and people around the world even entered a selection process to go there. NASA talks about it too as if it is feasible. It is nothing like being on the ISS. It is a suicide mission. It…[Read more]

Sunday School 3 years agoI have previously reported parents like that to child welfare services. Not only was the child a preacher in the making but he had bruises on his left arm that made me think the worst. On its own it is child abuse to warp a young mind like that, never mind any physical abuse .
I was given a warning by the police not to report it again as they…[Read more]

Sunday School 3 years agoI sometimes compare the variety of religions on offer to candy bars. They all have the same basic ingredients – chocolate, nougat, coconut, caramel and sugar to sweeten them but just in different amounts to distinguish them from each other.
While most of them contain nuts, some have a higher percentage than others. When you compare the sizes t…[Read more]

Sunday School 3 years agoI work with the public and don’t initiate conversation on religion and I make no religious inquiries..
Same as. I seldom, if ever, ask anyone what religion they belong to, even if I think it is none. But if I am asked I will say I am an atheist and I still won’t ask them. I am not even curious about whatever version of whichever god they might b…[Read more]

I agree but I do think that over time the articles on the subject are generating a little more light and a little less heat that they used to. And yes, if the overnight experts took a step back it would help.
