@michael17…Reg, you are more knowledgeable than billions professing to be Christian.
In another recent event I was told by a few Catholics that if I made an effort to read the Bible and attend Church regularly that I would come to know their God all by myself. I was feeling a bit tired so I decided to be gentle with them.

Being the spawn of Satan has its own rewards too. I hope that Bishop was pleased to meet him. I wonder if he can guess his name?

A Christian told me a few days ago that we celebrate the birth of “our lord” because he was born so that we might be saved. I said that I thought that we celebrate his death and resurrection at Easter so that we may be saved. He got all confused.

@Encogitationer – I fully accept that. I am more keen to see the puppet masters prosecuted for treason (domestic terrorism) than the jesters and fools that wandered around the stage. If I was able to vote in the US I would vote Democrat but in the past I have often thought that I might have voted Republican. There was a time not so long ago when…[Read more]

The problem is not the Republicans. It’s the hapless Democrats….
Yes, they are too meek and too weak.
I was in north Atlanta for Thanksgiving and read “Wildland” which I would recommend. You could be parachuted into any neighborhood there and you would immediately know the political color of the area (red or blue). Gerrymandering of MTG’s distr…[Read more]

and since the rioters were not armed, there’s no way they could have hoped to hold the Capitol Building for 7 days…
Several of the rioters were armed. The Flynn brothers are a disgrace while some other rioters were military (or ex-military) personnel.
Many of the rioters were QAnon supporters and MAGA morons with persecuted Christian c…[Read more]

I would prefer not to have a post overly moderated if the derailment does not become the main topic of the thread and the OP does not complain. It can demonstrate what “how not to win a debate” looks like. But in general we should try to stick to the topic and argue for and against it and not tilt at windmills or strawmen.

Sunday School 4 years, 6 months agoFewer adults than ever believe in imaginary gods. For atheists getting married and breeding does not make for a better society. If the trope about atheism being a religion were true then atheists would constitute the largest religious group in the U.S. That’s worth another look. We are also the group most likely to be vaccinated.
But one adult w…[Read more]

@TheEncogitationer – If they were ancients from MuMu Land we would be justified in thinking that it could be an ice cream van that they left behind. (That Wizard of Oz is for beginners. Kansas is one State, Altered is many) 🙂

@jakelafort – Bill O’ Reilly is now on tour with Trump which says much about the caliber of the man, a veritable intellectual Colossus of back roads.
Apparently some atheists on a website called “Think Atheist” spread rumors about the moon 🙂 (almost 1.5 million views!!). You know who you are!

There are bigger “moon questions” that need to be tackled first. Once I figure out how it got there I will do my own research into tackling why NASA is afraid to respond to “hearsay”. Once when I was very stoned I heard someone in the background say that there is “no dark of the moon”. Makes you think doesn’t it?

Sunday School 4 years, 6 months agoGreat to have an elected official who can take time out from his duties to talk about “church stuff”. Just another vulgar Christian. He was in the news after the Florida night club shootings in 2016 for other homophobic rants. Don’t expect any sign of remorse from him. I guess he spends a lot of his time thinking about the sex lives of people he…[Read more]

We have made no inroads into any science that could make cryostasis possible. I guess such technology and that of a viable spacecraft is a few centuries away still.
The article (imo) almost takes for granted the likelihood of some type of collision. But once we pass through the man made space junk we should be safe. The first 300 miles would be…[Read more]

The problem is all about the distances to the nearest potentially habitable planets, even within the Milky Way. To travel one light year is similar to traveling around the diameter of the Earth 36,000,000 times in one year (without even stopping for a picnic). Planets on the “other side” of our galaxy are up to 100.000 light years away and the…[Read more]
