@Michael17 – You posted a link to the ancient-origins pseudo-scientific website to bolster the credibility of a Tiktok video about some fantasy Biblical characters from the Book of Genesis?? You win this one Michael 🙂

@Unseen – if that guy fell down a stairs he would be OK as he would only fall one step at a time.

Andesite, a rock that cannot be cut with known ancient tools was the material of choice…
Is andesite not a generic name for specific types of rock just as sedimentary is?
Who is the expert on ancient tools that claims that it cannot be cut. Was this known to geologists before the invention of Tiktok?

Sunday School 3 years, 8 months agoThe Earth “thinks” that it is flying thought Space in a straight line. But it is pulled towards the Sun by the force of gravity and so is compelled to circle around it. This is basically the way Newton understood it to be. Einstein improved upon it by explaining that the mass of the Sun is so enormous the it warps the Space (Spacetime) around it.…[Read more]

Americans who aren’t sure about God are a fast-growing force in politics – and they’re typically even more politically active than white evangelicals. But will they turn out in enough numbers next Tuesday? There may be some good surprises results though.

Politics 3 years, 8 months agoUnseen, I am sure we both recently have lost sleep over the FACT that the Furries are being pandered to and allowed to have their own litter trays in school. I suspect some will even have their names embossed on them in liberal lettering paid for by the taxpayers! Grrrgh!! At least some good Christians are standing up in protest against this…[Read more]

Politics 3 years, 8 months agoAll politics is local is a political adage that seems to be a reasonable statement. People tend to vote for a local politician that will represent their interests at a local level. In Atlanta, one of many States that have election deniers and incompetent people running for office next Tuesday, the adage falls flat on its face. People like…[Read more]

@ jakelafort – That is why i wondered whether a person who may be more susceptible to schizophrenia might not otherwise experience symptoms but for a deep religious immersion. Idk.
I have always considered this to be correct. I have observed this often. (Not sometimes but yes, often). More on this when I have time.

While I’m all ears if someone can tell me one word for “the feeling of spirituality”.
It is what makes us human. It is our ‘Humanity’.

I blocked Johan from posting any more. I don’t think there was any point staying on the bus. Not with all the baby gods and the wives of gods. The Real Jesus as the bus conductor and the Living God behind the wheel and no ticket inspectors was too much. I am getting back on the blue bus because I do not know where the driver is taking us.

@Johan – Because you have this “excuse” that Facebook is worse than “your forum”. And you fear the “Facebook monster”.
Why are you using quotation marks? I never said that. I do not fear the “Facebook monster”. I do not accept FB as an authority on anything. Somebody writing something does not make it true. Same way I don’t accept biblical quo…[Read more]

Death is the end of life. At that point we cease to exist. We are related to all other life on Earth and there is no reason to think that what happens to us is any different to what happens to an elephant, a bug or even a parrot.
The only reason to believe otherwise is magical thinking. We have a fear of the unknown. Religions make unsupported…[Read more]
