Demo women were entitled to a woman president, but Hillary didn’t engage voters as entusiastically as Sanders (or Trump) did.
A failing Demo Party lost and Trump might motivate Demos to change our ways.

Science — the kind that requires evidence and reason. 8 years, 10 months agoEric Temple Bell’s four-volume set, “Mathematics: Queen and Servant of Science” impressed me greatly when I read it about sixty years ago while I was earning a degree in mathematics.

It is a beautifully written math book. I view math as a language that helps us to understand and communicate about the universe, but yeah…an incorrect assertion about the universe can be wrong, even if all the math is correct.

Regarding Carlo Rovelli (see Reg’s four-hour-older post) and his writings:
I read and enjoyed Rovelli’s book on Anaximander, but as I read it I kept in mind that he is a “Banger” and values elegance more highly than I do in deciding what qualifies as evidence. -

Some xians say that without their bible atheism has no morality. Some of us reply from various defensive positions. I don’t; I tell them the laws–federal, state and local–partly define my morality.
