Atheism and Spirituality 6 years, 9 months agoSure… on a most basic level. ‘The essence of living’ resonates with me moreso. Are you really THIS hung up about a word?

Atheism and Spirituality 6 years, 9 months agoI’m not squirming in discomfort. What in the world about the notion of spirituality would make me feel discomfort?
Then why did you suggest she find a different word?
You’re engaging in armchair psychology without a license.
How so?
Do you believe in ghosts or souls? Are you a dualist?
What do you mean by dualist? Like I said earlier in…[Read more]

Atheism and Spirituality 6 years, 9 months agoIt’s development and evolution…and you know, maybe spiritual isn’t the best word to describe it. But it is I am choosing to describe it, nevertheless, to help others more understand what I am searching for.

Sunday School 6 years, 9 months agoIf you read the El Paso shooter’s “Manifesto,” he clearly is not crazy. He’s no more crazy than an antivaccination freak or a person who believes the government is withholding info about UFO’s. He’s the prisoner of bad, poisonous ideation.
What is your definition of crazy? Anybody who commits mass murder cannot be classified as completely…[Read more]

@Davis Sorry but I’m kind of confused about what your position is on this.
It sounds like you feel your progress is blocked where you are now. What would it take you to seek a fairer employment situation.
Only time will tell that. Once I start working full time hours, options will be open for me that are not open for him. He has told me t…[Read more]

It might be time to change jobs and get a fresh start with another employer.
Why in the world would that be a good idea?

@Unseen, But how do you ascribe value? And no, life is not always fair. When I started with the company I did need a shift accommodation because I’m a single parent. I’ve now got that sorted and I will be working a full-time shift but I’m still not as flexible as my scheduling as he is. I also didn’t negotiate when I got hired on because of the f…[Read more]

Well, if black people should have some monetary compensation, and so should Hispanic people. After all it was the conquistadors that came in and ruined their societies beyond recognition. To this day Hispanic people experience prejudice. While you’re at it, what about Jewish people? After all they went through the holocaust….If w…[Read more]

@unseen, I don’t think it’s possible to talk about consciousness until you are more precise in your concepts.

@unseen – I just think that your definition of consciousness is very vague and woolly.I think that if we’re having experiences, we know what having experiences is and don’t need a detailed definition. It’s as close to a so-called “primitive concept” as you can get.
