The stupidity of our nation continues to really piss me off. I’m still banging my head against the wall…..REALLY?!?!?…..we are insistent upon hitting the self-destruct button.

I agree, there is a window, say 1 or 2 pints where it can be easier to understand, but once you get past three and especially past 6, I find the slurred speech and reverting to local dialect makes it pretty tough to understand. Following a drunk man in a bar in Glasgow (or in my experience in a Pub in county Kerry) was so impossible I just nodded…[Read more]

The polls are more confusing than ever:
We need to keep reminding ourselves that winning the popular vote doesn’t matter. You have to win in the Electoral College, which is why Cenk Uygur said that it isn’t good enough for Biden to just win, he has to win by at least 3 or 4 points in the popular vote,…[Read more]

I occasionally chastise reactors to TW when they refer to them in terms like “a girl group/band,” “a chick band,” or some such. I tell them that TW is a rock band, not a band with any sort of qualifiers or asterisk needed. They are not good “for girls.” They can hold their own against any band when it comes to stage presence, big sound, and good…[Read more]

@Davis – Irish, Scottish and Welsh people get much harder to understand with alcohol 🙂.
I once shared a house in London with 2 guys from Sterling and a girl from Wales. The first day nobody really understood anyone else. That evening we went to the pub. Problem solved. 🙂
I was working in Paris and it transpired that I had arrived on Beaujolais…[Read more]

Defo Scottish. Sounds like a Southern Highland’s accent but has lived in the central belt (between Glasgow and Edinburgh). Or the other way around. Could be wrong. It’s not particularly strong. By this I mean, completely understandable without strain or effort. Had a plumber in from Glasgow last year, I had to ask him to repeat himself three times…[Read more]

@ PopeBeanie
The reactor in that last video has a thick accent, as you noted. Can you place it? I’m pretty sure it’s some British regional dialect from the main island or one of the other British Isles (not Ireland, of course).

I’m just observing right now, trying to figure out if there’s a way to show the virtues of tolerance. E.g. on youtube where anti-woke and anti-left are now surges of hatefests, pandered to by politicians seeking re-election opportunities.
Unfortunately, neither Bing’s AI or ChatGPT were willing to draw me an image of Satan and Trump shaking…[Read more]

I like that reactor’s take on both TW and FtF as well. In fact, I thought I had already posted it. I’m getting old.
Now, the girls looked long and hard before finding a company to sign with, and clearly they signed with the condition that they would have finali approval lon everything (they’ve stated as much, as I recall). This is why, I think,…[Read more]

A coup need not look like a coup. No mobs. No barricades. No assassinations or kangaroo courts.
A soft coup is going on right now.

Can anyone tell me why a simple overdose of morphine or (better?) fentanyl isn’t used? I don’t think such deaths are painful or even distressing to the subject. People overdose all the time and are found lying peacefully with the needle still in their arm, no sign of struggle.
