Sunday School 1 year agoTo the best of my knowledge, information and memory i asked the following:
Are there any countries with widespread gun ownership and relatively low rates of school shootings?
It is hard to understand how Israeli citizens are so underarmed? Underarmed? Is that even a word? And after the latest incursion, bloodlust, sexual and mental depravity of…[Read more]

Sunday School 1 year agoRobert and Jake,
All right, Robert, I at least see where you got the figure of 6.3 shotings a week, though the shootings are most likely not spread out and multiple shootings take place in one incident.
Jake’s AI, however, rightly points out that gun availability and gun prohibition are not the only factor in school shootings.
So, should both…[Read more]

Sunday School 1 year agoSimon,
Do you mean a Y chromosome? XX, XY? I see your point: gun violence is almost exclusively male.
The X Chromosome is shared by both sexes, so Unseen was saying no one should have guns. XY is male.
Simple explanation of a nonsense position, no? Score one for Occam.

Sunday School 1 year agoSimon,
I don’t buy Occam’s Razor all the time. I think it’s artificial. Something’s the way it is, not necessarily the simplest way.
Of course, something is the the way it is and sometimes it is complicated. All Occam did was pre-date “The Raven” and quoth: “and nothing more.”
What is explained by positing an alleged everything that ex…[Read more]

Sunday School 1 year agoStrega and Unseen,
No hacking was involved here. Unseen just demonstrated the GIGO principle of computer programming: Garbage In, Garbage Out.
Look, all problems created by homo sapiens could be solved by removing our X Chromosomes from the picture. But the only ones supporting that are the VHEMT.…[Read more]

Some countries with widespread gun ownership and relatively low rates of school shootings include:
Switzerland: Switzerland has a high rate of gun ownership, largely due to its tradition of a citizen militia. However, it has significantly lower rates of gun violence compared to the US, particularly in schools. Factors that contribute to this…[Read more] -

Sunday School 1 year agoRobert,
If we arm every ape/human with a gun, what could go wrong? The NRA has an entire anti-statistics department working overtime to make 1+1=3. Because 6.3 school shootings a week keeps the kids awake and alert.
Cite?
We don’t need one gun for every ape/human, just one for every would-be victim. Anybody have have statistics on who that could be?

I am not sold on the multiverse theory. Too many strings attached.
Occam’s Razor cuts those strings easily. One Universe with lots of unknowns is the best catch-all.
