@simonpaynton yes, good call. I have a pitchfork (legacy from my satanist rituals I developed too much sloth over) which I might use on odd looking lumps in my garden.

Sunday School 8 years, 10 months agoIt’s kind of ironic that a poster complains that Reg was clumping ‘most christians’ together, whilst simultaneously clumping all Atheists together in the response.

I’m thinking of finding a constructive way to break all Ten Commandments. Thou shalt not kill was a bit of a challenge, but my dog fatally wounded a mole yesterday and I broke its neck as it’s guts were hanging out. Now, onto the next…

Well, now. If there’s one day of national prayer, to me that indicates 364 days of non-prayer. Ha! Only one day to get rid of!

Heads up. That “don’t be a dick” reference I made earlier, includes the attacking of posters rather than posts.

Thanks umar. Do you think there might be a way to create a button on the edit toolbar to make it easier to embed a file? I’d think it would be easy to implement with wordpress (though I’m not sure). Cheers

Simon….you are right. I am insanely in love with Dr. Bob. I dream of going to an expensive French restaurant with him. He will order for both of us, I love it when they do that…and if I’m lucky, after several succulent savory dishes, I will get some dessert, hopefully a cream filled eclair. I guess I’ll just have to focus on Reg. Maybe if I…[Read more]

The very fact that there is no comprehensible law one can ever find in the bible that doesn’t include an enormous amount of highly subjective and random picking and choosing, mixing and matching and preferring one contradictory rule over another (shockingly in such a way that often shows a bias for laws which are similar to ones own culture).…[Read more]

Thank you Simon for your indirect attack. That was horrible to read, especially since I’ve always respected you and never publicly complained about some of the things you do (even when for me some of your replies were exasperating). Why would I do that? There are many things that rub some users the wrong way. Have you broken the rules? No. Has Dr…[Read more]

I’d not looked into Wittgenstein before. Turns out three of his five brothers committed suicide! Three! Statistical probability unlikely. I’m probably alone here but I find that rather ironic 🙂

@Drbob the moderators are me, Reg and Pope. You were welcome at TA and also welcome here. I expect we will get around to updating the rules at some stage. The most basic rule is , “don’t be a dick”. The one you might bump into occasionally is , “don’t preach your gospel here”. Guided by those, you should be ok!

Sunday School 8 years, 10 months agoNo Belle, because it’s an atheist site, you ought not to be surprised when your theological comments receive negative responses. Nobody is attacking you. We respect your right to voice your opinions. We just don’t necessarily agree with them.

Simon! Your personal experiences, which combine your emotional state (hope, desperation, etc) with material events (a phone call, finding a tenner) have absolutely nothing to do with statistical probabilities! Each combination of your inner and outer experiences will be as unique and individual as snowflakes or fingerprints. You cannot cl…[Read more]
