Do you have a place called TJMax in Ireland?
Yes (but trading as TKMax here) in my local mall which is only a 10 minute drive away. I am not the person to go shopping with. I tend to go there maybe once a year for clothing. Browsing ? Not a hope in Hell! I go early in the morning knowing exactly what I need. I can usually get it all done and…[Read more]

I have a friend who always looks “a million dollars”. She might be in a business suit for her high powered job or in casual wear but everything is smart and “chic”. When she if finished with them she returns them to the charity shops where she bought them. This way she gets to have new outfits all the time. Everything visible is from a charity…[Read more]

Sorry for the “hit and run” here but I was reading this just now (working from home but on a break) about how the US military could be considered a socialist organization. The article that follows below it is on CRT but also worth reading. (linked here also in case it is different in your location).

Sunday School 4 years, 11 months agoI really get the frustration of front-line medical staff when they are told by patients of some stupid conspiracy theory about the vaccine. Compassion fatigue is totally understandable. It will soon become compassion burnout.
As President Biden put it, it is now a pandemic of the unvaccinated. Where and who do you suspect will be worst hit?

Sunday School 4 years, 11 months agoI can’t listen to Carlson without wanting to punch him. But ever since watching the Tucker Carlson episode of Paradise PD on Netflix I can only laugh when I hear him now. It cannot be undone.

Sunday School 4 years, 11 months agoI know we are all tired of Covid news stories and I have tried to keep them to a minimum but we need to be aware of just how misinformed many religious people are and how unconcerned about their neighbors they can be.
The religious views of Tennessee’s Gov. Bill Lee’s are putting lives at risk while in Michigan vaccines are being called the mar…[Read more]

Correct, there is no advantage if only one connector is USB 3 (blue color). A case of the army marching at the pace of the slowest soldier. It might be worth putting the camera SD card directly into a USB 2 (or 3.0) reader and connecting it directly to the computer. This would speed things up a little especially if you are using Photoshop to edit…[Read more]

I think I would prefer it to be Cthulhu as Yahweh demands too much credit. “I made that and that and that too”. Yeah ain’t you just so modest Yahweh. And Cthulhu does not expect me to sacrifice a goat when asking for a favor. At least I think Yahweh does or else I have been wasting my time!

It’s because God created our minds that we are able to discover the laws of science that He created. Same site.

I think option 2 is the better approach for now but would qualify that with defining what the interval of the monitoring on “a regular basis” is. Then I think you should book the next (say) 6 or 12 dates for the check-ups now.
My accountant is stage 4 for last 3.5 years (and as Hitchens said, there is no stage 5) has managed to get specifically…[Read more]

I consider Gravity to be the effect of warped spacetime and not to be a force in or of itself. At least I do when I try to put it in a single sentence.

I was a passenger in a car wreck once. As we floated through the air and rolled 3 times before hitting a tree, I remember thinking that “This is it man, I am about to die”. My thoughts were “I am glad that I am aware of the experience but it is actually quite boring and pointless as I won’t be able to share the experience”. After we climbed up and…[Read more]

I ran a local Parkrun circuit during the week. Other people of legs were doing the same. Some legs were white, some black, some naturally brown and some colored light brown due to sunny weather. Mine were changing from pasty white to “forgot the fuc***g SPF on the legs again” red (unique to Irish people of legs) and will be light brown soon.…[Read more]
