Reg, can you shed some light on the so called anti immigrant riots in Ballymena? Was there rape/sexual assault or is the accusation intended to foment discontent and lawlessness? Is there some particular animus against some particular ethnic group/religion? If so is it confined to northern Ireland?

I know about 8 people who work for multinational companies who have turned down opportunities to work in the USA recently and opted to  stay in Ireland or go to a different country instead. 4 of them are US citizens and said they will reconsider in 3.5 years’ time. But will it be too late by then for President Newsom and VP Buttigieg to repair the damage?

If this was really about “illegal immigration” and not simply “we just don’t like swarthy people,” a simple and obvious guest worker program such as some European countries have would be on the table.
