My first impression after looking a bit into the coach and the Maine cases is that the SCOTUS rulings weren’t as broad as I first feared.
As mentioned here above, already, what might matter more is how future cases similar to the coach case are ruled. I would expect to see more cases, or even more extreme cases, where religious practices at…[Read more]

Sunday School 4 years agoI see a fair amount of repudiation of post-life life as I surf, although I must admit the digestive tract analogy was refreshingly new to me.
I also have a favourite response to the question.
Theist:- “what happens after you die?”
Me: “Either we are totally extinguished, OR we all go to heaven because God is loving and forgiving so obvio…[Read more]

I have a little gem for you from a Quorean (Jon Jermy) responding to a question on how atheists feel about whether their consciousness continues after their death.
“
My ‘consciousness’ is not an object, or a type of person. It’s a process — specifically the combination of certain physical processes going on in my brain and the r…[Read more]

Sunday School 4 years agoI watched some exorcism flick and the priest screamed blessings at the jets of water he was pumping from a kids water cannon – which seemed to do the trick. I think more priests should adopt this delivery method.

Yeah, it was long, and painful, plus add another half hour for researching where these guys are coming from. I felt the need to look further because of a few red flags, phrases (my paraphrases) like “they kicked us off because we told the truth”, “a conspiracy theory is just a spoiler [for a future truth]”, and then berating (the left, of course)…[Read more]
