I like another reactor because of his knowledge of some music, and his strong opinions about it. I never liked Atlas Rise, but I can appreciate a musician or band when they have the skill and tenacity to accomplish a good performance. Atlas Rise is a tough piece! TW pulls it off wonderfully. This guy can say it better than I can.

The way I’d put it, belief in free will promotes all kinds of behavior, acting as though we have it. “For better and for worse”, if one must place values on behaviors.

I don’t want to critique much, especially when I can’t predict the direction they’re going. Quinn sounded pretty nervous to me in Evolve.
But she had much more in control for Breathe. So we know she has great singing ability. Recording-wise, it sounds like her mic was either not on, or it was way too low in the mix. I think the mic recording the…[Read more]

I’m not betting, yet. Lots can happen in nine months, taking out Trump and/or Biden.

Steve Schmidt makes a lot of sense to me so far in the videos I’ve watched. The thing about him I’m trying to accept or ignore is the seriousness of his demeanor when speaking. But he validates my fear that our current crop of MAGA politicians and citizen cult really mean to take over, and keep power, to “save their America” from the influence of…[Read more]

First off, I’m against capital punishment. But if the state’s going to execute someone, I still care about doing it as humanely as possible. I’ll talk some about that, while it really bugs me how incorrect assumptions are being made and added to the story of the recent execution in Alabama.
A reporter from the New York Post actually said that…[Read more]

I’ve seen headlines about China producing fembots, but I haven’t clicked on any, so I dunno if they’re meant to be exported to countries that they deem to be the highest threats to the CCP. (Who needs to worry about alien fembots taking over, unless aliens are allowed sell and ship via Temu?)

I guess I’m not into Classic Rock as a solitary genre. especially when it’s programmed as a canned, “Best Classic Rock Of All Time” list of 100 at a time. I’m sure it’s fine for a lot of people, and any suggestions you and I make are probably helpful for a wide range of people. I do see several of their other sets-of-100 lists. AI robots are a likely result of intelligent meat.
But also (my new suggestion), the best AI will be able to hide its own existence, poisoning our (and other AI species’) measurements.
