And Reg the holding is specifically handguns.
Reg the Federal Farmer (a distant relation) wants to know if his AR-15 will improve the efficiency of a well-regulated militia and insists that he will carry it down town if they ever try to put their Government Hands on his Medicare. They better stay hidden in plain sight.

I think that the wording used by Justice Thomas is too vague. He ruled that Americans have a right to carry “commonly used” firearms in public for personal defence.
Does that only mean handguns or could it include rifles or shotguns if that is what the permit holder commonly uses?
Even the term commonly used sounds bad. How common is their usage?

Sunday School 4 years agoThe idea that God would knowingly use the Bible as the primary source of revelation for his existence and as a moral exemplar is thoroughly problematic if he knew it would be used to justify slavery by countless people over almost 2000 years.
The “Slavery” article in the Long Reads section is good.

Sunday School 4 years agoIt is at this point that I like to remind them that “However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says: Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool“, Acts 7:48-49
I am on a roll this year. I reckon I have helped cure about 20 of them from their god delusion.
I even surprised one today when I showed him t…[Read more]

Sunday School 4 years agoOK, none of you Catholics seem to be able to adequately answer my questions but I was wondering if you could try one more which I am certain you will find easy enough. It about plenary indulgences. Is it true that the first week of November is the best time to visit a graveyard to pray for the souls in Purgatory? I understand it is acceptable by…[Read more]

Sunday School 4 years agoI have decided to be a no show on the day as I cannot respect a God who is the law maker, the judge and the executioner.
Another question for Catholics – How comes the Pope is allowed to let so many people bypass the Day of Judgement and get to Heaven early? How does the Pope know that God is happy with all of his selection?
What do you mean…[Read more]

Sunday School 4 years ago@Robert – Always cracks me up when adult preachers talk like children and give warnings as if they really care about people.
Yes, adult Christians say the funniest things! I do too on occasion but always in a very sincere and solemn manner 🙂

Sunday School 4 years ago@Stegra – Reg seriously! I can’t wait to send this to my Catholic lawyer friend!
Ask your friend if the obiter dicta of the Cuddly One (AKA Pope Franky) really won’t have any bearing on the rationes decidendi that gets delivered by Jesus, Mary, Joseph & Co on the Day of Judgement and are we to assume each case is res judicata? This question is s…[Read more]

Sunday School 4 years agoOne of my fav questions when debating Catholics is about how they think they will look on the Day of Judgement when “The man comes around”.
Will you appear as you were on the day you died or will you be a spirit? I can never get a straight answer. It’s as if they just don’t know! But they do seem so certain that they will get to Heaven (withou…[Read more]

If the DOJ cannot indict a sitting President, they should at least be able to do so now. Is it not obvious from the Jan. 6 Committee investigation that Trump “oversaw and co-ordinated” a criminal plot to overturn the election result? And the drunken major should be charged too.
What if the Democrats setup a task-force to recover the $250m tha…[Read more]

It is a cultivation room in a farm about 600 miles south of you that I have an interest in. All completely legal and fully complaint to CA standards.

@Unseen – How long do you think you could go without any weed?
In my early 20’s I was a bit of a fiend as were all my friends at the time. We lived in squats in different countries and went to most of the outdoor music festivals. But I managed to “keep it together” and had some well paid jobs.
One morning I got bored with the whole scene and…[Read more]

@Jakelafort – What makes an addict?
In my non-professional opinion people become addicts because they have unresolved issues that they have not yet addressed. They don’t get addressed while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (or whatever your having yourself).
I know plenty of people who consume all types of drugs on an occasional basis.…[Read more]
