If I were formulating a world view for publication, I wouldn’t mind snagging ideas from a source of ideas even if other ideas of that source were repulsive. It’s even possible to glean good ideas from Jesus, and whether or not they’re ideas that actually came from a real Jesus or from a writer of fiction about Jesus. It’d be similar to two people but like twins. Except that there are some brain parts in the middle that would loose functionality if split, and any functionality that was originally mostly in one hemisphere (and shared with the other side) could never again be simultaneously available to both new beings.

Consciousness 7 years agoSo we can study “development” of consciousness at the individual level prenatally and when one is growing up and growing old, over thousands of years of human cultural evolution, at the human and primate species level genetically, or over millions of years of mammalian and other animal evolution.

I think it’s useful to know that Jaak sorted his primal list largely based on the order in which they probably evolved in brains, so it also reflects largely on which parts of the brain have the “deepest” physiology and evolved usage.
