I really must point out that in safe western countries (basically every western country but the US), guns are not necesarily prohibited. Canada, Finland, Iceland and Switzerland are good examples where hunting rifles are abound and in a few of them, ex military personnel can (or must) hold onto their handguns. Also, in some (though not all)…[Read more]

  • I’m not ignoring your arguments. You are mostly just venting and venting isn’t an argument.

It’s sad that you can’t see that tactical decisions one dislikes will be needed in order to forestall major losses.

You seem to know little about how change is brought about. I’m not arguing this shit with you anymore. You are supportive sometimes, other t…[Read more]

  • You obviously went to Davis’s school of ad hominem doom and gloom rants

Pointing out how we are treated unfairly and unjustly and fighting for change, is an inconvenient annoying rant for Unseen. I’m not sorry for that. Your “discomfort” with people pointing out the injustice they face is a choice. You can do what all too many people do and den…[Read more]

  • Should I just throw a pissy fit and insist that my party take a stance that may cost them on election day…even if it means ending up with the party that will actively be taking away what I do have now?

  • You obviously went to Davis’s school of ad hominem doom and gloom rants. Blacks and browns, gays, and women have made a lot of progress, but it came the only way it really can: with public acceptance and empathy. And we aren’t there just yet with trans people, and the reason is that a lot of the issues are uncomfortable…on both sides.<…

Can you explain what you mean by that? Um….the US is a shit show right now. I’m hoping European countries might start taking in US citizens on asylum visas. It’s getting bad.

The US definitely has some problems unique to the Western World and it is actually VERY concerning to many people in other western countries. A few examples: anti-…[Read more]

Yeah I really enjoyed the jurisprudence seminar during my bachelor. The difference between continental and anglo-saxon legal thought in particular was VERY interesting.

  • So basically ‘Out vs In’

I’ll probably be able to remember that 🙂

There’s no way to prove authenticity, or that the producer of the artifice or whatever is reliable or is a completely benevolent agent.

Enco is absolutely relentless in sticking his heels in and standing by a stupid point. Thank you for reminding us Enco of a skill none of us would like to have. Is conceding even a mundane point outside of your abilities?

Neither side of the debate ever fully agrees on the comprehensively and logically defined core issue of exactly when during gestation a fetus attains “personhood” and has its own right to live, and it’s practically impossible to do so. Every declared line of demarcation therefore is arbitrary. End of life decisions when the patient can’t speak for…[Read more]

Mexico definitely has serious problems to deal with. So does the US. I felt safer in Lebanon and Iran than I did in Newark and Detroit. I’d rather walk down the streets of Guadalajara than be a black person in a traffic stop by a US policeman. While Mexico is passing more and more liberal legislation, states are banning the teaching of slavery…[Read more]

Mexico is a civil war zone

That’s the most over the top overgeneralisation you’ve made yet Enco.

I’d definitely say that the US is unique in some ways in Western countries for the following reasons:

    1. States have incredible power over laws including the regulation of abortion which is a federal jurisdiction in almost all other Western countries. This will inevitably lead to a sort of: can get abortion, students can learn about slavery, laws…[Read more]
