Cats can be very protective and in unexpected ways. Cat guides blind dog:
In now famous video, the family cat stops a dog who’s attacking a toddler, sending him packing:

Sunday School 3 years, 9 months ago@Unseen Now I’ve picked myself up from the floor where I was laughing, I have a question.
Would you call (your) atheism an assertion rather than a belief?I think it’s an assertion for me, but an assumption for the people I grew up with.
Assumption aligns more with an ‘apatheist’ which I gather is someone who doesn’t know or care about gods…[Read more]

@Unseen, you sad a mouthful with the following.
We now have convenience Christianity. There’s sure to be a religion or church or preacher where your own deeply-held opnions, prejudices, and/or follies are affirmed for you and inculcated for others.
Confirmation bias is a bitch even when you are keenly aware of it. How many times have i caught m…[Read more]

@Unseen our democracy is already over. It’s been over. We are no longer the country we once were and never will be again. I have been saying it since Trump was nominee. The only solution that I see honestly is to get the hell out of this country. Back away slowly and never come back. I prefer to be elsewhere. The only complication that has s…[Read more]

Vice President Pence, whose politics and overall values differ vastly from mine, is still to my mind a man who, if our democracy and the Truth survive 2024, will go down as one of the great American heroes. A man who, despite almost unbearable pressure, saved the Republic from a palace coup.
Agreed. I wonder had the mob…

@Unseen – How long do you think you could go without any weed?
In my early 20’s I was a bit of a fiend as were all my friends at the time. We lived in squats in different countries and went to most of the outdoor music festivals. But I managed to “keep it together” and had some well paid jobs.
One morning I got bored with the whole scene and…[Read more]

I’m starting to wish a Philosophy of Law course had been among my philo studies.
Is this ever discussed in law courses: Is having a right the default unless it’s abrogated or limited by law?
In other words, I have the right to buy mustard, engage in recreational sex, or wander near and far unless some law takes that right away or lim…[Read more]

Man i hate that fire in the crowded theater hypothetical. It throws people off. It is only ever a 1st amendment speech issue if the government is legislating against the subject speech. In any event yes the first amendment is absolutely not absolute. It is filled with limitations. It is essentially a balancing act between the rights of…[Read more]

The Evangelical movement represents that backward-looking worldview and they have quietly been working on taking over the government and installing their value system.

Science — the kind that requires evidence and reason. 4 years, 1 month ago@unseen I agree but the empty space I referring to was just a metaphor for people that try to make sense out of what they do not understand, nothing more. Empty space is just a psycho analysis term when a child or adult tries to use their personal interpretation of something to satisfy their personal train of thought process..
