Really hope that the responses to this do not contain great swathes of biblical text.

(I’m not asking agnostics or atheists.)
Anyone who authors any such claims are merely fallible human beings, right? E.g. Mohammed only said he spoke with the angel Gabriele. Come on, is it not arrogant, or just plain foolish to claim to know anything about God, based only on what human beings wrote, without first having a personal, face-to-face…[Read more]

Besides the fact that we humans have trouble with answering those questions sometimes even about other humans, and note that those questions and answers are still evolving and depend on current cultural perspectives, I choose to not ever assume that AI will have “personhood” equivalent to humanhood, or animalhood, for that matter. In fact, I…[Read more]

As far as I’m aware, Reg, the only acceptable quantity of Jaffa cakes to buy when the Force is strong, is in fact, “All of them”

@Reg You know, I think those religious oranges and chocolate were immortalised in Jaffa cakes. Perhaps my Rastas were sharing their communion, based on that Sermon.

Hi Michael, perhaps you’re looking in the wrong places. Have you been to Jamaica? The Rastafarians in particular

I could really do with a prophecy regarding a horse race, or better still a lottery number. If one of those comes up, I’d be at least a little inclined to believe.
Beasts and horns don’t really do it for me. I’m glad you’re passionate about these things though. It’s nice to see joy, even interspersed with beasts 😉

Ok Michael, I’ll bite. What I read from your posts is that Prophecy (which is vague and needs interpretation) is there to demonstrate the existence of god and that this (generalised) foretelling of the future is a technique to persuade humans of god’s existence- and should people believe this, they will get eternal ‘life’.
That is my ten second…[Read more]

Even if I followed that – what does it recommend you do? Is there any use to knowing ‘the beast’ is going to do something if we have no idea who that is and cannot prevent it doing it’s deed?

I still have no idea what the point of all these prophecies are, since they appear only to be recognisable after the event.
It seems to me a useful prophecy might help you to avoid misfortune, or gain success. But if you only recognise that something was prophecy after the event, that would defeat the purpose.
It’s a bit like reading last w…[Read more]

Johan, you are welcome to post thoughtful or original comments here. You are not welcome to proselytise (or preach or post chunks of religious texts.)
If you want to publicly share your religious insights, please don’t expect interest from an atheist membership. After all, the only reason atheists exist, is because of theistic impositions.
