@ Robert This attack was a long time coming. It’s been fueled by ongoing abuse of Palestinians, treating them inhumanely as subjects rather than citizens. @Unseen I ran into a Modern Life for the 70’s Mind reaction to Hi Ren (also see above), and watched. Good tip, to just skip the narrative on Bob’s personal life.
At the end of the review he picked up on how the camera recording changed to human-held, making it feel more real, at the most personal moment. The opera singer (above) also pointed this…[Read more]

If anyone here feels stuck in a rut, this woman (who names her Youtube channel “Soprano Notes”) has A LOT of great insight into the Hi Ren piece.
At one point, I’ve seen some reactors feel totally horrified, stupefied enough to not know how to hear and deal with what’s coming next. This reactor handles her first viewing in the best way I’ve seen,…[Read more]

I knew Cream was special, but didn’t get deep into them. Even less so for Rush. I might still get into those rabbit holes. I appreciate three piece bands more now. I’m avoiding Muse and other super-skilled bands, even Polyphia, as talented as they are, I listen in awe to the mechanics, but while feeling the music less.
I like this voice-focused…[Read more]

I tend to ignore anything that goes viral these days, but I got into this one because of a few music reviewers I respect. IMO this performance is awesome, and meaningful. About 9-1/2 minutes.
Late PopeBeanie edit: If you’re feeling emotionally vulnerable, I recommend you watch this video doled out more in stride in the next post instead of this…[Read more] -

I watched most of his TW reviews already and decided to not listen to the rest. If I remember correctly, he says too much that’s just not relevant to me, e.g. what he did that day? But it does appeal to 17k subscribers and he sounds like a nice guy.
Here’s an example of a guy who was “in the biz” and has friends and associates in the biz that he…[Read more]

I’ve had great support from the VA, and great luck with therapists for ten years, solving depression first, which was caused by decades of severe social anxiety. It took the next seven years or so to get over the social anxiety. For both diagnoses, the treatments were “standard”, but different therapists favored different techniques, and…[Read more]
