And here I thought you were going to thank me for the donation this morning- nope.
I know several guys who prefer guys- not one said they were born that way. If people would simply admit (honesty) their fantasies, lusts, desires, impulses, etc. as such; instead of trying to hide/blame their gene pool (or even the Devil) for all their actions…[Read more]

1. what’s wrong with being gay?
2. what made your friends turn gay, if they weren’t born that way?-
You’re not going to like this, but here goes.
Along with the 10 commandments that we should strive to uphold (for our benefit mind you) there’s a host of things the Eternal declares an abomination or perversion see Lev 18 which includes a man laying with a man as with a woman. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how strong a guy’s sex drive is or a…[Read more] -
OK but being gay doesn’t cause harm, and you haven’t given any good reasons why someone would choose to be gay. It’s all very vague. I know that sexuality can drive people to do some regrettable things, but being gay isn’t one of those regrettable things in my opinion.

PEOPLE OF COLOR:
Is this an acceptable way to refer to non-Caucasians?
Perhaps you have not contemplated what is being conveyed in using the moniker, people of color. It is a way or distinguishing high’ranking from low. What else can it be? White is a color, right? Caucasians are not even white and in fact variegated in shade or pigment and yet…[Read more]

I guess it evolved from “coloured people” – i.e. people who have been coloured in a special colour. So “people of colour” is more neutral emotionally.

This just happened to be a topic in one of my classes a couple of weeks ago. The term is similar to any racial term. They’re mostly cultural “constructs”, i.e. abstract, with little science to back up the claims. OTOH, I had a biology instructor who referred to various sub-species of animals as having scientifically measurable “racial”…[Read more]

Damn, too much to say here, for sure!
Why is Obama “black”, when he has just as much white genery in him as black? The one-drop (of black blood) rule making someone non-white was only relatively recently discussed publically and made unacceptable.

Why only blacks and close friends of blacks can say “nigger”.…[Read more]

I am 86 and not a christian. The evangelical busybodies who are in the majority in this senior residential (federally assisted) complex are making life miserable for me.
They evidently gave my phone number to the minister of their nearby church. That minister made a hate phonecall to me. He told me that I am going to hell because I don’t…[Read more]

The other day on Farcebook I ran into a pic of someone holding a sign that said “Diversity is code for white genocide.” It boggles my mind that anyone could believe and/or promulgate such bullshit. Sweet Jesus is hate speech exactly like ‘diversity’ is code for white genocide.

Sunday School 8 years, 9 months agoSome worms have adapted to very high levels of arsenic in just 170 years that they are now considered a new species of worm. We also need to be careful when using the term “purpose” or “direction” when talking about Evolution. There is no “guiding hand” behind it.

Sunday School 8 years, 9 months ago“why do we have science?”
– this opens up a whole can of worms, and part of that can of worms, in my opinion, is a “theory of perception”: why, and how, we seek information. So, here’s my theory of perception, which, as far as it’s correct, is open to being expanded.
THEORY OF PERCEPTION
– why we seek information
– how we obtain it
WHY W…[Read more]

Sunday School 8 years, 9 months ago“epigenetics”
– apparently, when we are about to go and seek short-term, “hedonic” pleasure, i.e. fun, our genes set up an inflammation response in the body, as if we are expecting to get wounded. I have no idea why this might be.
It would be interesting to see if we get the same inflammation response when we do something we know is morally wrong.

There is a major problem that gets very little attention. It is the rates that the permafrost in Russia is melting at. There are now “huge” craters becoming visible where the permafrost has melted. Permafrost holds vast field of Methane in place which is much more damaging that CO2 even though it exists in much smaller quantities. It will feed the…[Read more]

God is the answer to what happens to where my lap goes when I stand up.

The idea of artificial selection is such a misnomer. We are part of nature just like everything else. Everything is natural evolution. Whatever we decide to do is part of the natural cycle as we are not apart from it. Humans are evolving just as everything else in the Cosmos is evolving.

Davis, when you say the US entered the war at the last minute we simply had no means to enter Europe’s war in 1940, with an insignificant army and no real war machinery. Talk about gearing up! The US war production was truly the arsenal of democracy, even supplying the Russians and Chinese.
And then there was “our war”, the one in the Pacific.…[Read more]
