Sunday School 2 years, 6 months agoYeah that is a colossal bummer about Hirsi. Having said that, she had slowly been becoming a liability to the reputation of atheists. Even for fairly innocuous non-controversial seeming things, she was saying very unhinged shit. Best comment I had read so far was that, going Christian would help bring her more money and more attention to her…[Read more]

I propose POD for Muslims.
Just when I thought I could get away from the vile bigotry of the last thread, its ugliness resurfaces. Not sure I want to be part of this forum anymore if every thread is going to be a discussion thread spreading and cheerleading bigotry.

For others here, out of dozens of reviews of Hi Ren, none disliked Ren’s musical style, and most, especially the professional guitarists, commented on how creative and talented he is as a guitar player. I’m still in awe of it every time I watch. I consider Hi Ren as a short opera, as the story takes us through a very emotional topic, and the…[Read more]

On a related note, boosted now by the House out to Cancel the Executive Branch’s use of a word. I had no clue that use of the term LatinX was yet another propagandanismistic (sp) tactic of Woke Culture.
As just another naive white guy, post-colonist, I sought out and found a bit of Latin[?] history and insight from someone, who I think is one of <…[Read more]

All of these hate driven obscene overgeneralisations, demonising nearly a billion people…that’s not bigotry. How dare you label over the top blanket vile stereotypes as bigotry. I don’t take kindly to other people’s bigotry being called out.
Too bad. For all the talk about moral superiority, the more “civilised” part of the world…sure is a…[Read more]

Yes, Malaysia is not ideal. Nor is it a death cult. All the things you talked about happen in non- Muslim countries. They do FGM in Christian countries in Africa. Should we bomb to smithereens the Christians in Nigeria too? Homosexuality is illegal in Christian, Bhuddist and Hindu countries. Should we label them all a death cult as well and…[Read more]

Jake has a point that anti-Semitism was utterly rife at the time in Europe. But Jake, Autumn said “fulled by”, not “emerged from”. All of Europe saw strong anti-Semitism. It came to its ugliest via Nazi Germany. Full scale insanity was, in part, fuelled by Germany being put under the same kind of pressures that Palestine is. That doesn’t justify…[Read more]

Nope. Nice try Enco. Another one of your standard strawmen. No one here is sympathetic to Hamas. No one condones what they have don…[Read more]

Nothing in your reply signals anything other than justification for a dehumanising view of Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims. Yes, anti-semitism is rife, timeless and a serious problem. Totally agree with you. Disappointed by your own bigotry Jake.

You know Canadians would be aghast and support the apprehension and elimination of such a hypothetical group.
A couple decades change people very fast. Russians are very sympathetic to the barbaric behaviour of Russian troops. Being a mostly white western people doesn’t make them inherently “civilised”. We could easily transpose ourselves to…[Read more]

Judged through the lens of history and in relation to other wars yes.
No. The only way you can arrive at the unjustifiable is through dehumanising others. Admit it.

Nah Jake. You’re just parroting dehumanising drivel. Canada would act differently [because they are more civilised white people]. Palestinians are collectively responsible (including babies) for Hamas. War is hell. Of course it is. That is no excuse for reprehensible behaviour anymore than say, the fact that you are operating in the business world…[Read more]

Robert,
Your stance on Palestine is so extreme, so brazenly Islamophobic, so utterly dehumanising and cold blooded it is disturbing. You simply cannot cast mass blame on an entire people and justify the excessive rampage by Israeli forces, regardless of the circumstances. You don’t mind them being crushed like little ants because they are…[Read more]

Your examples of prophecy fulfilled are not contextual to all the unfulfilled prophecies. We can’t tell a good one from a bad one until after the event, either. So we would be rather foolish to trust *any* prophecy in case it was a bad one.
This reduces the value of a prophecy to the equivalent of an astrology reading.

Netanyahu is pushing every possible emotional button to reinforce the Israeli response. If there’s a bit of Bible handy, he’s going to grab that. I don’t think there is any particular proselytism that is out of bounds when you’re rallying the troops. I wouldn’t take it seriously.
Now, tell me what the point of prophecy is if it cannot be trusted…[Read more]
