@regthefronkeyfarmer – that’s cool! Yes, we’re on the A1/M and it’s a great place to live. Bellen would love it here.
@belen – you might find this useful, written in conjunction with a medical doctor and a Buddhist monk.

@regthefronkeyfarmer – that’s a good point, and it ties in with the article (below) I just dug out of an old Sunday School before I’d read your reply. People want to feel like they’re doing good and righteous work, so if they can be convinced of that, they’ll do anything.
I’m a great believer in synchronicity. If something sounds like woo, t…[Read more]

Sunday School 8 years ago@regthefronkeyfarmer – lol cheesy quavers. Lady Dammage is a really sweet person, she won’t leave Barcelona to move to the Netherlands (home of hardcore) because her dad is ill. Her album Coredoom is excellent.

Simon Paynton replied to the topic IS EVIL REAL? OR, LIKE GOD, A HUMAN INVENTION? in the forum Small Talk 8 years ago
@regthefronkeyfarmer – I agree, a concept doesn’t have to match up with reality.
@unseen – I think you misunderstood what I was saying.
@jakelafort – there are two classes of ethical principles: interpersonal, and cultural. The interpersonal were the original ones from small groups before culture and religion, which is why they are shared by…[Read more]

@danielw – sounds good.
@regthefronkeyfarmer – “Admitting you don’t have all the answers but striving to find them is a better place to be?”
– that’s true. Why is this? Why do we always want to know things? Why is it, “knowledge is a hit”? Making sense of the world must be a survival skill. It actually gives us pleasure to know things…[Read more]

Bookish atheists 8 years, 2 months agoI have my web site. The problem I have (that I identify) is that my writing is very clunky. It’s difficult to put down bits of facts and research piecemeal and expect it to read nicely. I notice that other writers on a similar subject (morality) know their material like a charm, and so they can just reel it off when needed, and it really fl…[Read more]

@regthefronkeyfarmer – “Wittgenstein”
– if he was clear, intelligible, and made his point like a pro, I guess I would be all ears. It’s not whether he’s “right” or “wrong” that’s important – the fact that he has a reputation for being impenetrable, is a bad sign that he actually doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

@regthefronkeyfarmer See Sunday School for the Greek polytheistic religion – I bet it’s the closest religion around to do that!

@regthefronkeyfarmer – exercise is definitely beneficial, but apparently it doesn’t lead to a lot of weight loss, directly. But I think it must foster the well-being that leads to a desire and commitment for other weight-loss programmes (and anything else that’s good in a person’s life).

@regthefronkeyfarmer – yes, you’re right, only time can tell. Basically it has to be tested and discussed etc. every which way. Just as important as the ideas themselves are the consequences of the ideas. This is because, basically, bullshit leads to bullshit. What is also significantly important, is how well does it explain the real wor…[Read more]
